It is distinguished by its small head, short snout, long, thin neck, broad turtle-like body, short tail with a fin at the end, and two pairs of large, elongated paddles. The plesiosaur fed on belemnites, fish and other prey. The meals must have been copious for an animal measuring almost 2.5 meters long.
